I absolutely loved this book, its cute and sweet and I love the characters.Abby is a very strong woman. After suffering years of abuse as a child and surviving a very traumatic incident, she becomes emancipated from the state at 16yrs old. She then goes on to get her high school diploma, meets the best friend that she will ever have, (Tessa) graduate from college and land a job at Halseth Inc. The dark events of Abby's past keep her from interacting with her co workers, having relationships or having friend other than Tessa.
Brandon Halseth has just become the new CEO of Halseth Inc after his grandfather steps down. Brandon is Rich, Handsome and one of Chicago's most eligible bachelors, but he is tired of all the women who throw themselves at him for money or status. Brandon and his grandfather both want the same thing, for him to find a wife and start a family.
Brandon sees Abby and becomes attracted to her, not only for looks, but also because she is very intelligent and his grandfather speaks very highly of her. He starts a friendship with Abby and he realized that if there is ever going to be more between them, he is going to have to break down the walls that she has up and bring her out of her shell.
Abby realized that Brandon wants more than just a friendship from her and she is terrified. Not only is he her new boss, but she has never been in a relationship before, heck, she has never had a boyfriend or even dated. Brandon is starting to get to her and she is doing things that she would have never done before he showed up.

Although a truly awful thing happened in Abby's life, she has found a way to survive and even to thrive a bit. What I loved most about Loving Abby was that although neither of them were perfect, although Brandon was staggeringly beautiful, they were kind of perfect together. She's intelligent and introverted and not into Brandon because of his money or status and he was adept at bringing her out of her comfort zone.
A great story with a lot of heart.
I really loved this book! My eyes even teared up a big when Abby's story was being told. It's a clean romance for the most part, but there is a little bit of the main guy saying "how much she wants her" with some details....that I wouldn't want my teenaged daughter (if I had one) to read.
The story is a great one. I will look for more from this author.
This was a light easy read, with an easy to follow story line. Both Brandon and Abby felt real, I thought the ending was good, and there were parts that I didn't see coming.
I liked how Abby, although an introvert through and through, and carrying significant baggage, was able to put some of the past behind her and became more confident in herself professionally, and that Brandon had something to do with that, kind of the way that a good relationship brings out the best in both people.
I believe this is the first book I've read by Mrs Kate and I am so pleased with it!! There was just enough emotions through the book for you to understand but not be a complete mess! Hahaha I cried at times but I was able to laugh and love the characters in this book. My only wish is that Annie could have grown up with this loving family! That was a hard one for me specially since she opened up for Abby...Abby deserved to have that little girls love forever! I will look for more of this author's books!

Beautifully written romance that will hold readers hearts and attentions. Abby has had a hard life but has been able to overcome a lot. She still has a few problems with anxiety and her communication skills when it comes to friends and co-workers. In fact she really has only one good friend in Tessa/ For Abby that is enough. Abby doesn't have a love life and she also thinks that is okay until her boss and owner of the company retires and leaves his grandson in charge. Brandon is unlike any man Abby has met and the story goes from here with some twists, turns in a sentimental journey readers are going to love.
What a cute story! It was fairly clean- a heavy make-up session and some physical reactions on her part, but nothing more graphic. The story held my attention and thanks to a dentist appointment, I was finished with it fairly quickly. The characters are well developed although, since Abby and Tessa are so close, I would have liked to have gotten to know him better and seen his relationship with both women. I know this was Abby's story but 2 or 3 scenes with all of them would have gone a long way, in my opinion. Other than that, definitely a story worth reading.
Abby has faced a big shocker when she finds out Brandon Halseth is the new CEO at Halseth, Inc.. Earlier in her life at the age of 16, she endured a lot of trauma and the emotional and bodily marks are still with her. Even so, she became very successful in her profession at Halseth, Inc. She learned from the top dog there, CEO Jack Halseth. Brandon ends up working with Abby and even though she gives Brandon the cold shoulder, he is determined to win her over. What follows is a life altering change. I felt that Brandon had a great part in Abby beginning to blossom and heal from her past. Even though Abby was reserved, wary and lacking at times in confidence she was able to heal from her former wounds. The story is heartwarming and fasted paced and will keep you intrigued up until the last page. This is a gratifying tale filled with emotion, character growth, friendship and love.
